These dogs shed a lot, are big and have a high energy level. they usually weight between 70-115lbs. these dogs were bred to work on farms and will be a great addition to a family that will be able to exercise them regularly. These pups are not very common in shelters however when they do end up in these shelters they are usually noted for their high energy levels, health conditions or the owner's inability to provide the exercise they need.

Labrador Retriever
This is another common breed that is popular for their loyalty, ease of training, and medium-high energy levels. These dogs are notorious for being energetic puppies that calm down slightly with adulthood. they need weekly brushing however their hair does not get long and is usually manageable. These dogs commonly end up in shelters due to their high energy and strong birding tendencies, Many people note them eating and injuring their fowl or other small farm animals.

English Springer Spaniel
These pups are a working breed with high energy that come in medium to large size. These dogs were bred to hunt and love to smell everything. they were also bred to swim and most have an affinity for water and swimming. this breed would do amazing in a yard to explore or with a family who likes long walks. These dogs do not often end up in shelters since their breed is hard to find and many times the breeders will take them back in the event you cannot keep them however many breeders note that their energy can sometimes be too much for the owners.

Australian Shepherd
These pups are extremely energetic and have long hair that needs regular grooming. Most notably this breed is known for being the Beethoven dogs, these pups love to be couch potatoes and cuddle all day. These dogs shed big but require less exercise than one would think. Most love a good game of fetch or a few walks a day. This breed would do amazing with a family who loves movie nights and morning walks. This breed mostly ends up in shelters due to their size and grooming requirements being too much for the owners!

Rhodesian Ridgeback
These dogs are know for their line of fur on their back that sticks straight up! These dogs are sleek fast and shed more than they look like they do. although these guys were bred as hunting dogs they have a medium energy requirement and would do great with a backyard and dedicated family. these dogs often end up in shelters due to lack of socialization so giving the good socialization with people and animals is necessary!

Great Pyrenees
These enormous guys are livestock protection animals that make amazing family additions! They shed a lot but aren't big on exercising, they work amazing in families that love a low maintenance energy dog and are okay with getting regular grooming. these dogs are however gigantic and need a good amount of training. these dogs commonly end up in shelters for their size and maintenance that their owners can not keep up with.

German Shorthaired Pointer
German Shorthair Pointers are a great addition to a family these dogs are lean and fast. They are also extremely smart and need a job to keep their attention. These pups would do best in a family that hunts or has property that is fenced for them to run in they have high prey drive and can be trained to keep that drive away from children but have been known to overestimate the durability of young kids. These dogs end up in shelters because of their high energy levels and tendency to wander for miles.

Great Dane
Some of the tallest dogs in the world, these pups are often called the gentle giants of the dog world. they have low energy requirements and love to take naps. This breed needs brushing multiple times a week and often can get to the size of a miniature horse, however they are noted for their nanny tendencies and their ease of training! These dogs often end up in shelters due to their size and lack of training.
